We have a 3-node failover cluster with Cluster Shared Volumes running on Hyper-V, all protected with DPM 2012 to tape. The Hyper-V hosts are running Windows Server 2008 R2. All our backup jobs are running just fine with the exception of one. There is a VM running Windows Server 2003 R2 that fails only when backing up the Hyper-V VM via the cluster. This is the error message:
The operation failed for Microsoft Hyper-V\Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot\Server01 on Server01.Cluster01.domain.local because the data source is not available. (ID 30169 Details: VssError:The specified object was not found. (0x80042308))
Before the backup job kicks off I’ve made sure that all writers are in “Stable\No error” mode. All other backup jobs on this particular VM work just fine (file level, SQL databases, System State, etc). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
